All members must agree to these guidelines.
Although every reasonable attempt will be made to encourage positive events and interactions, it is the responsibility of each member to adhere diligently to these guidelines. Even so, it is understood that each member and participant does so at their own risk and East Bay TransWomen is not accountable for the actions of it’s members, those who host events, and third parties.
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these guidelines.
Behavior
We respect the dignity of all individuals regardless of race, religion, orientation, biological sex, gender identity, physical appearance, presentation, age, or political affiliation. Please refrain from making derogatory comments about others or organizations.
Confidential
Please keep in confidence any information you may discover about other members and respect their need for privacy. Do not post photos of other members without their permission. Let others know if you do NOT want your picture taken.
Presentation
At socials and events, members and guests are expected to dress appropriately for the venue. Due to the current social and political environment, we need to be especially attentive to how our public interactions reflect on our community. Please refrain from dressing in overly seductive manner, or in a way that mocks or ridicules an honest expression.
Alcohol and Drugs
Alcohol may be consumed in moderation at group events, unless it is specifically prohibited by the venue. Members or guests who attend events while excessively intoxicated or under the influence of drugs will be asked to leave.
Sexual Behavior
EBTW is a non-sexual, social support group. Sexual behavior of any kind, including provocative dress, nudity, and/or explicit language, is not permitted at our events. Any member or guest whose behavior is not conducive to maintaining a family-friendly environment will be asked to leave.
Photography
Although our members enjoy taking pictures, please follow these guidelines concerning photos taken at our events. We ask that all photographers get permission before taking anyone’s picture. Photographs may not be posted on the internet, published, or shared without permission from every person in the photo. We thank you in advance for being respectful of others’ wishes when using your camera at our gatherings.
